./print/tex-biblatex, Sophisticated Bibliographies in LaTeX

Branch: CURRENT, Version: 3.12, Package name: tex-biblatex-3.12, Maintainer: markd

The biblatex package is a complete reimplementation of the
bibliographic facilities provided by LaTeX. A custom backend "Biber"
by default is used which processed the BibTeX format data files and
them performs all sorting, label generation (and a great deal
more). Legacy BibTeX is also supported as a backend, albeit with a
reduced feature set. Biblatex does not use the backend to format the
bibliography information as with traditional BibTeX: instead of being
implemented in BibTeX's style files, the formatting of the bibliography
is entirely controlled by TeX macros. Good working knowledge in LaTeX
should be sufficient to design new bibliography and citation styles.
There is no need to learn BibTeX's postfix stack language.
Just like the bibliography styles, all citation commands may
be freely (re)defined. Apart from the features unique to biblatex,
the package also incorporates core features of the following packages:
babelbib, backref, bibtopic, bibunits, chapterbib, cite, citeref, inlinebib,
mlbib, multibib, natbib, splitbib. There are also some conceptual
parallels to the amsrefs package. The biblatex package supports split
bibliographies, multiple bibliographies within one document, and separate
lists of bibliographic shorthands. Bibliographies may be
subdivided into parts (by chapter, by section, etc.) and/or segmented
by topics (by type, by keyword, etc.). With biber as the backend,
features such as customisable sorting, multiple bibliographies with different
sorting, customisable labels, dynamic data modification are available.
The package is fully localized and can interface with the babel package.

RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 3.3

* Biber version 2.4 is required for biblatex 3.3
* The \Declare*Option commands have a new optional argument when using
biber which declares the datatype of the option. It defaults to
"boolean" if not specified. If you define any custom options in your
style, you may want to specify the correct datatype (see docs). However,
it is unlikely that this will impact anything at the moment as this option
only used internally by biber for some checks.
* INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE - There have been major changes to the handling of
name lists in order to generalise name handling beyond the narrow
confines of the legacy bibtex name parts of "last, first, prefix,
suffix". These changes only apply when using biber as the backend and
  mainly affect style authors.

RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 3.2

* Biber version 2.3 is required for biblatex 3.2
* New label generation options which allow fine-tuning of how name prefices
are handled (see pstrwidth and pcompound options in documentation).
* Some internals have changed regarding prefix space handling in names.
This shouldn't impact normal users but hackers please not that
\blx@sf@apo has been renamed to \blx@sf@prefixchar to better suit the new
\DeclarePrefChars command. Also note that in the standard name printing
macros, \ifpunctmark{'} has been replaced by the more general \ifprefchar.

RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 3.1

* Biber version 2.2 is required for biblatex 3.1
* Added new macros \DeclareNolabel and \DeclareNolabelwidthcount for
  fine-tuning label generation
* Improved Finnish and Russian localisation
* Many bug fixes

Log message:
Add SHA512 digests for distfiles for print category

Problems found locating distfiles:
	Package acroread7: missing distfile AdobeReader_enu-7.0.9-1.i386.tar.gz
	Package acroread8: missing distfile AdobeReader_enu-8.1.7-1.sparc.tar.gz
	Package cups-filters: missing distfile cups-filters-1.1.0.tar.xz
	Package dvidvi: missing distfile dvidvi-1.0.tar.gz
	Package lgrind: missing distfile lgrind.tar.bz2

Otherwise, existing SHA1 digests verified and found to be the same on
the machine holding the existing distfiles (morden). All existing
SHA1 digests retained for now as an audit trail.

Log message:
Update to texlive 2015.

pdfTEX: Support JPEG Exif as well as JFIF; do not even emit a warning if
\pdfinclusionerrorlevel is negative; sync with xpdf 3.04.
LuaTEX: New library newtokenlib for scanning tokens; bug fixes in the normal
random number generator and other places.
XeTEX: Image handling fixes; xdvipdfmx binary looked for first as a sibling
to xetex; internal XDV opcodes changed.
MetaPost: New numbersystem binary; new Japanese-enabled upmpost and
 updvitomp programs, analogous to up*tex.
Infrastructure: The fmtutil script has been reimplemented to read
fmtutil.cnf on a per-tree basis, analogous to updmap. Web2C mktex* scripts
(including mktexlsr, mktextfm, mktexpk) now prefer programs in their own
directory, instead of always using the existing PATH.
