   was (Athlong-800, 68Mb pkgsrc+wip src_summary)

     gawk                   - 1546 sec.
     mawk                   - ~3572
     NetBSD awk             - ~6947
     heirloom posix2001 awk - ~9906

   now:

     heirloom posix2001 awk - 18 sec.
     NetBSD awk             - 42
     mawk                   - 43
     gawk                   - 62
