The Unicode Character Database (UCD) consists of a number of data files
listing Unicode character properties and related data. It also includes
data files containing test data for conformance to several important

Note the following two unicode-emoji files:
 emoji-data.txt
 emoji-variation-sequences.txt
have been moved from emoji dir (included in unicode-emoji package):

 Unicode 12.1 adds exactly one character, for a total of 137,929 characters.

 The new character added to Version 12.1 is:
  * U+32FF SQUARE ERA NAME REIWA

 Version 12.1 adds that single character to enable software to be
 rapidly updated to support the new Japanese era name in calendrical
 systems and date formatting. The new Japanese era name was officially
 announced on April 1, 2019, and is effective as of May 1, 2019.

Announcing The Unicode(R) Standard, Version 11.0

 Version 11.0 of the Unicode Standard is now available, both the core
 specification and data files.

 Version 11.0 adds 684 characters, for a total of 137,374 characters.
 These additions include seven new scripts, for a total of 146 scripts,
 as well as 145 new emoji.
